Amsteg - Sunnig ridge

On this tour, you can enjoy perhaps the most beautiful view in the region. You take the aerial cableway from Amsteg up to the Arni recreation area. At 1,300 metres above sea level, you hike along the idyllic Lake Arni. The route then takes you through the Grüenwald forest and past another small lake. After a total of around 700 metres in altitude, you reach the Sunniggrätli hut. From there, it's another 15 minutes to the summit of the Sunnig Grat, which offers breathtaking views of the Reuss valley in Uri.

Andermatt - St. Anna - Gigenstaffel

There are many places in the Andermatt region that have been documented as particularly energetic by the Swiss Places of Power research centre. These places of power are ideal for shaking off the stress of everyday life and gaining new impressions and strength. There are several on the route from Andermatt to Gigenstaffel via St. Anna. Take a break from everyday life and stop again and again to be enchanted by the wonders of nature.

For walkers, fans of pleasure hiking and families with children, we have this tour tip, which is particularly suitable for hiking holidays with the little ones in Switzerland: The hike starts directly in Andermatt, then cross the village bridge and walk up the steps to the Mariahilf Chapel. The Gurschenbach waterfall is a good place to pause, and after the subsequent descent you will reach a rest area for a snack. For the way back to Andermatt, we recommend you take the cosy little road that partly runs alongside the Unteralpreuss river.

Herb hike

This themed hike introduces you to the flora of the Swiss Alps. A hiking guide from Andermatt will show you the full range of our local variety of herbs and berries. While herb hikes are more likely to appeal to adults, we can recommend goat trekking near Andermatt to families with children. Tour for hikers with climbing experience: Salbit Bridge

Please note: We can only recommend this tour to experienced hikers with alpine experience and a via ferrata set in their luggage. From Göschenen railway station (10 minutes by car from the hotel) you hike up the Regliberg to the Salbithütte. From there, the route leads over rougher terrain (including an iron ladder) to the Salbit bridge. Crossing the 90 metre long Nepalese-style suspension bridge is not for the faint-hearted. Crossing the bridge is only permitted in good weather.
